The effects of Parent-Child interaction Improvement Program for developmental disordered children

Abstract
Children with development disorder have emotional and behavioral problem as well as developmental delay, which causes more stress for their parents and interactional problem between children and parents. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of Parent-Child Improvement Program for 15 pairs of developmental disordered children and their parents. Parent-Child Interaction Improvement Program is focused on better relationship between children and parents. It contains training parents to supply their children with developmental physical activities through active participation in children¡¯s plays. It also contains educating parents on the characteristics of developmental disordered children which affect parent-child interaction. After Parent-Child Improvement Program, there was significant increase of parent¡¯s interactional behaviors to satisfy children¡¯s needs based on their own recognition.
